2025 Plans for the Nerdery
As per usual, the start of the new year means I look at how things have gone and what I can adjust. 2024 was the start of a lot of new stuff for me. I started streaming, worked events with other studios to gain experience, started doing more and more in-person classes and workshops at the Bristol Bootique, discontinued some products and added some others, and it’s been a fun process looking back at everything.
Streaming
I’ve already updated my stream schedule from what I originally started at, moving to twice a week for two hours at a time. I’m going to stick with this schedule for the foreseeable future, gaming Mondays and Wednesdays from 6pm-8pm EST. I’m slowly working my way up to affiliate so I can start using Twitch as another income source, so until then the best way to support me streaming is to show up live, give me a follow, and share it with folks you think would like it!
I’m already making adjustments to better my stream experience like learning about audio tech and content strategies for Twitch and Youtube, so let me know if you have any ideas for content you’d like to see from me on the Vtuber side of things!
Conventions
2024 was a rough year for many artists I know that rely on conventions full time. Election years are usually rough on sales for a lot of businesses, but this year especially I noticed a drop in sales of roughly 10-30% per event. There were a few outliers and that’s not to say I *didn’t* make any money, but it was noticeably less than prior years for more than just me.
Due to that and the current political climate, I will be making some adjustments to my convention schedule. For my own safety I will be limiting the number of comic conventions I attend, as well as conventions in states that are passing or have passed anti-trans legislation. I try not to get political as the Nerdery partly because my artwork is an escape, but the number of times I have been harassed, followed, and physically harmed at events is staggeringly too many. I will also not be doing any events alone, thus making them a bit more expensive for me to work.
You will continue to see me at anime conventions, furry conventions, pride markets, and even comiccons that still foster a sense of safety, but between that and the growing number of applicants and raising table prices, I expect my convention schedule to be a bit slimmer for 2025.
Patreon
Patreon is going to have its tiers adjusted again, but for the moment I have already added the $15 Naughty Rat tier which gives you access to exclusive NSFW content voted on in my discord. I’d like to put out a new piece every month, and NSFW commissions will also be going up there as well.
Website
I’d like to bring more people to my website and the biggest part of that is using it as a centralized place to find most/all of my content. I’ll be updating bits of it to include an event calendar for my conventions, workshops, streams, and in-person events at the Bristol Bootique. I’d also like to be more consistent with my blogs and planning specific times for me to do things, hoping that an actual schedule will help keep me motivated to stay on top of it.
That’s all for the moment. I hope everyone has a great start to the year!
